What do you watch when you wanna Netflix and Chill? What’s worth spending money on in the theater? Do you know how many movies are released every week? NEITHER DO WE! In today’s day and age, there are more movies and TV shows being released daily than ever before. There’s no doubt people are in love with the storytelling only filmmaking can provide, but how in the world do you know what to watch when there are so many options, and more and more all the time? Not to mention, too many critics today seem to only take interest in shit talking movies instead of giving a little acknowledgment to the hard working men and women that forge fantasy into reality. How many times have you seen the Rotten Tomatoes critic and audience score look like they’re watching two different movies? Critiques have lost a lot of sway with the audience, so it’s time for movie lovers to take the power back! Welcome to We Watch It! Do you just fucking love movies? Because we do, too! We’re not interested in shit-talking or armchair coaching, we want to talk about the amazing stories that are at our fingertips, and yours, and help you find something that mesmerizes, terrorizes, adrenalizes or just otherwise tantalizes you! This is the show that’s all about everyday people discussing the media you hear about every day. But you may be asking “Oh yeah, and how are you any f**king different from all the other jib-jab about movies?” Well, dear potential listener, it’s because of how we approach it. First of all, we have three VERY different hosts and we cherish our differences (I know that may seem crazy in this day an age, but it’s true). Secondly, we try to watch as many different things as we can, from the blockbusters in the cinema to the next binge-worthy streaming masterpiece, we watch it and talk about it. By bringing three very different people together to discuss all this content coming out, we can hopefully illustrate that different movies are made for different people, which in turn will help you decide what will work for you. Oh and by the way, we do it all talking like normal people, we’re not f**king robots regurgitating some blog we saw on ScreenRant. The show is hosted by us, Shannon Mahaffey, J.T. Hazzard, and Cody Aaron Hanify—again, everyday people with some practical working knowledge of film, both from a crafting perspective and the industry as a whole.Through our differences and strong personalities we are able to create fruitful discourse born from our differing—and sometimes, diametrically opposed—perspectives. What one likes, the other (or others) may not appreciate or value so much (just wait till the topic of Star Wars comes up). And that’s okay. At the end of the day, nobody’s perspective takes precedence over anyone else’s. Everybody has the right to their own opinion about their experience with what they consumed, and that’s the way we want it, both for ourselves and our audience. Just because one person doesn’t like something doesn’t make it garbage, despite what YouTube comments might say. The most important thing when breaking down movies and TV shows is the diversity of perspective because it’s this very diversity that forces us to look at the media we consume a different way. Didn’t like the final season of Game of Thrones? Have thoughts about the latest Marvel movie? Tired of seeing the same thing over and over again in the onslaught of upcoming Disney films? We’re here for you! With more and more things coming out every day, we have a never ending onslaught of content to discuss, dissect, and argue amongst ourselves about to give you a diverse look at what is coming out faster than we can even keep up with. So if you are tired of professional critiques forgetting the joy of the cinema, then join us, a trio of hardcore movie lovers, in taking back the power of movies and let us help you find something great to watch!
