Welcome, to our second podcast!One of the goals of this podcast series is providing a platform for folks who look like me, who come from marginalized communities to honestly talk, support and validate each other. I feel honored to have one of my oldest friends, Maurice Edgerton, a African American retired Human Resource Executive, talk about incest, childhood sexual violence, and loving and raising a son born of incest. Maurice and I've known each other for 45 years. Over the years I depended on his guidance and support, felt safe to cry and be vulnerable in his company, and I never doubted his friendship. Perhaps still feeling the joys of my first holiday season loved and wanted, I thrilled to spend time with Maurice I allowed my overly protected guard down. Listening to Maurice I tried to block out his words, they were too painful. I didn't want to hear the depths my family went to betray me and attempts to sabotage me. Around 3am his words penetrated deep into brain and memories flashed back causing my mind and body to explodeThe truth was too painful to hear.Next week you will hear his interview which is shattering
