A funny, relevant and inspiring look at life and what we can learn from our past experiences to help us find health and happiness in the now and the future. Two old school pals reconnected after over 20 years to reflect on shared experiences from our childhood as well as the individual experiences and perspectives picked up over the last 20 years as we both have followed our own different paths. One thing we do have in common is in our own experiences as men who have faced adversity and had our own mental health challenges, as well as have a passion to help others and promote positivity, as well as to well and truly take a hammer to the stigma surrounding poor mental wellbeing. Ryan has recently turned 40 and Scott is due to hit 40 in under 100 days time. Now of course, none of us know how long we will live for, but the average life expectancy in the UK is somewhere around the 80 year old mark, so you could say we are at the halfway point, or to use a football analogy, it is just half-time. We will discuss the big questions, and the smaller ones too. There will be stories that are funny, sad, cringey...as we will lay ourselves bare and share from the heart, as well as offer our opinions from the head. There will also be tangents, music and some ideas for your own Mental Health toolkit. From time to time, we will be joined by guests too. So, why the title, 'Looking back to the Future'? Quite simply, we believe in the lessons learnt in life and that by embracing past experiences and our imperfections, that we can better understand the future and how we can lead a good life. It is not about living in the past or being filled with resentment, but it is also not about being in denial about the past, and it is about learning from and laughing about the life lived to date. No regrets, just lessons. And after all, who doesn't love a bit of nostalgia! This Russian proverb sums it up pretty well we feel "If you keep one eye on the past, then you are blind in one eye; but if you keep two eyes on the future then you are blind in both." Life is beautiful and challenging in equal measures, a bit like our podcast show! One minute it might make you laugh, the next it might make you cry, and who knows you may relate to much of it and find strength and ideas to introduce in your own life. Please give us a try and let us know what you think. Scott & Ryan - lbttfpodcast@gmail.com #Life #LifeLessons #MentalHealth #Positivity #Nostalgia #LifeBegins #BacktotheFuture -
