    Description

The Lifetimes of Learning Podcast is a production of the Buddhist Discussion Centre Australia. The Buddhist Discussion Centre Australia is a home-grown non-sectarian Australian Buddhist Temple, founded in 1978. Our vision and mission is to spread the Dhamma to foster more wisdom and reduce suffering, to support the Sangha and to help those who wish to learn and practice the Buddhist Path. Our small community size has not limited us in our mission – to offer the Buddha Dhamma free of charge, and to be professional, culturally adaptable, practical, scholarly in all our activities and ensure our volunteer teachers are easily accessible. The following are our continuing and new classes/services/projects: -Maintenance of a multilingual reference library which houses a collection of 4000+ books for Buddha Dhamma Scholars and Practitioners; -Development of an online Dhamma Teaching resource to preserve and share a large range of Dhamma texts and teachings to a global audience; -Book and Buddha Dhamma articles publication; -Sharing Buddha’s teaching via social media platforms and APPs such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Insight Timer and Podbean; -Free nightly online guided meditation; -Free weekly Saturday Buddha Dhamma classes; -Free four and five day Bhavana Courses throughout the year; -Regular chanting and Pujas (in person and online); -Regular Chan Painting classes; -Regular Podcasts and weekly “Buddhist Hour” radio broadcasts; -World Buddhist Radio broadcasting online 24 hours per day. -Maintenance and expansion of our temple -Building of a Buddha Dhamma content production studio on site -Financially supporting a Buddhist orphanage in Bangladesh -Volunteering support -We welcome people from all walks of life and from various ethnic backgrounds and cultures. We offer abundant merit making opportunities to support mind development and to practise generosity, where individuals can apply existing skills and develop new ones, while supporting our mission. As a Regional Centre of the World Fellowship of Buddhists and Member of The Buddhist Council of Victoria we engage to support the broader Buddhist community as well as others such as funding to support a local women’s refuge. We are also an Associated Institution of the World Buddhist University. Thank you for listening to our podcast. If you enjoy them and wish to support us and our mission to allow the Dhamma to reach to those who connect with our style of teaching and sharing.
