Galatians 5:22 NIV But the fruit that the Spirit produces in a persons...life is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. Spirit produces in us - Gentleness. There is nothing stronger in the world than gentleness. Geologist stated silent influences of the atmosphere are far more powerful than the noisy forces of nature Quiet sunshine than thunder...gentle rain than earthquake. One of God’s primary qualities to showcase his passionate love is His gentleness. The gentleness of God is one of His most powerful influences. There was a person name Elijah a prophet who asking God to reveal himself. 1 Kings 19:11 LB 11 Go out and stand before me on the mountain, the Lord told him. And as Elijah stood there the Lord passed by, and a mighty windstorm hit the mountain; it was such a terrible blast that the rocks were torn loose, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind, there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12 And after the earthquake, there was a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire, there was the sound of a gentle whisper. 13 When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his scarf and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. God’s gentle voice moved Elijah. Not the fierce wind. Earthquake. Fire. But His gentle whisper. Elijah learned that God doesn’t only reveal himself in the powerful & miraculous but in gentleness. Often times we look for God to move in big conventions, conferences, revivals. But there was something about Gods’ gentleness that moved Elijah. 1 Corinthians 4:21 NASB What do you desire? Shall I come to you with a rod or with love and a spirit of gentleness? If you attempt to drag a man by force his nature is to resist you. If you attempt to attract by love, it is equally in his nature to follow you. A principle of the Cross of Christ - God's remarkable love for us to build a relationship with Him. The cross is a proclamation of radical grace. God accepted us as we are and gently will love us to a healthy biblical life. Hebrews 12:2 TLB Keep your eyes on Jesus, our leader and instructor. He was willing to die a shameful death on the cross because of the joy he knew would be his afterwards and now he sits in the place of honor by the throne of God. The cross is Christ's pulpit. Nothing is so strong as gentleness, and nothing is so gentle as God’s strength. The gentleness of God makes us great by inspiring us to develop our highest capacities. Psalms 18:35 GW You have given me the shield of your salvation. Your right hand supports me. Your gentleness makes me great. -
