The greatest mark of a father is how he treats his children when no one is looking. Psalm 103:13 NLT The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. Good father is one of the most unsung unpraised unnoticed and yet 1 of the most valuable assets in society. Fathers offer the nuts and bolts to a child’s development. Without them things don’t stay together. One of the worst social problems in America … Absent father. According to the U.S. Census, 24 million children in America, 1 out 3 live in a fatherless home. 71% of all high school dropouts come from fatherless homes. 90% of all homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes. 85% of all children who show behavior disorders come from fatherless homes. When a father is present and active in their children’s life, they are more likely enjoy school. If a father does not go to church, 1 child in 50 will become a regular worshipper. Church participation leads men to become more engaged husbands and fathers. Teens with church going dads are more likely to say they enjoy spending time and admire him. Churchgoers are more likely to be married and express a higher level of satisfaction with life. In regards to regular church attendance and involvement Church involvement is the most important predictor of marital stability. Church involvement moves people out of poverty. Church involvement correlates with less depression, more self-esteem, greater family and marital happiness. A father sets the tone for the welfare of the family. A father develops, expands, instigates, motivates, inspires, encourages and exhorts his household. A Father is the head of the family. The Father is responsible for overall direction, vision, leadership of the family. The buck stops with you. -
