According to Dj Certify, if you “Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life” - Confucius, and Dj’ing has been the creative force through out his life. Certify's journey began as a teen from the South Bronx, during a time when his childhood friends were making names for themselves in the music industry. Artists such as Dj Xclusive and Dj J-Star from power 105.1 served as an inspiration to Certify. His taste in music was heavily inspired by Heavyhitter Dj Yonny, specializing in EDM, HipHop, and turntablism, and Heavyhitter/Lmp Dj Danny S whom specializes in HipHop, Dancehall, and Latin music. Growing up, he had a close friendship with Dj J-Star, who introduced him to turntables, which amplified his curiosity in the craft. Certify came from humble beginnings, his parents couldn’t afford to buy him luxury equipment (Technic 1200s) so they settled with what they could afford at the time, the Numark Dj in a box package. Nonetheless, the thirst for creativity and improvement was a driving force to get him practicing and mastering his skills. He quickly picked up the pace as word spread of an up and coming Dj on the block, starting with small gigs, house parties, baby showers, and sweet 16’s, working his way up to ultimately get more advanced equipment and pave way for the club scene. Certify started his career in clubs opening for Dj J-Star at Xbar, Melodia, Sky Ballroom, Ambar room, and Monaco Ballroom. In addition, he participated in Dj battles, similar to the 1992 crime drama ‘Juice’ starring Tupac and Omar Epps, alongside Dj’ing for Sucio Entertainment. His experience grew to work alongside renowned artists such as Sean Paul, Fabolous, Arcangel, Fat Joe, Zion & Lennox to name a few. In addition he continued to work hard, getting called for gigs at Le Souk, Copa Cabana, Sin City, etc. Certify had a fast growing network and began building a reputation for his eclectic taste in style and music. Along the way he met Dj MagicSoundz who is a Dj for LomaximoProductions and they instantly clicked. MagicSoundz admired his work ethic and recruited him to the Dj team which presently represents one of the biggest Dj teams of Latin Music in the world ultimately propelling his name on the market for greater opportunities in the Dj industry.
