Leadership and professionalism are only two of the attributes DJ LP has pushed to excel in today’s music business. From an early age born in Newport News, Virginia, DJ LP has been making his mark along the musical path. Raised by a musically influenced family, at age 14, LP taught himself how to read and write music. After a few years of touring around the world as a drummer he wanted to serve his country. He proudly joined the military and soon deployed to Iraq with the U.S. Marines. After being injured in the military, he enrolled for classes at Hampton University where he was introduced to art of spinning. After countless house parties, LP developed a loyal fan base, which in turn landed him a mix show on Old Dominion University’s college radio station WODU. With his loyal following, LP started to DJ at local clubs and events that launched his career in the Virginia scene. After his freshman year in college, LP wasted no time landing his first two club residencies. Having developed a reputation of one of the most popular DJ’s in Virginia, LP made connections with some of the biggest club promoters as well as club owners. During this time, he was given the opportunity to be a DJ for A.C.E., where he saturated the college market with his presence and developed the true entertainment personality needed to take him to the next level. At the age of 23, LP was ready to increase his intensity and expand his one of a kind sound. Alongside spinning, mixing, mashing, and remixing Top 40, House, Hip Hop, Rap, R & B, Reggae, Soca, Latin, Dubstep, Techno, and more, his one of a kind entertainment experience has given him the opportunity to DJ numerous high profile events such as the 2011 All-Star weekend in Los Angeles, the 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC and the East Coast Surf Championship in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He has also performed for Floyd Mayweather and The Money Team, Uncle Luke and Friends, Shannon Brown and the Lakers, and some of today’s hottest artists, such as, Diddy, Chris Brown, Jadakiss, Meek Mill, Pusha T, Miguel, Kendrick Lamar, Ke$ha, Travis Porter, Rick Ross, Soulja Boy, Ace Hood, Diamond, Teyanna Taylor, Quincy and much more. Currently, LP is located in Charlotte, NC. He has now become one of the most demanded DJ’s in the market. You can catch him every weekday DJing live on WPEG Power 98FM from 4:30-6pm. LP is also syndicated on numerous radio stations around the country such as WNSB Hot 91.1FM, WKJX 96.7FM The Block, WVYB Hit 103.3FM, XHTO Hit 104.3 FM. -
