DJ KAYLA G - THE FEMALE FORCE POWERED BY @fyahsquad @riddimstream CONTACT: DJKAYLAG@GMAIL.COM (BUSINESS INQUIRES) Following after her older brother, Kayla began collecting music and grew a love for the art. In 2008, she took to imeem.com posting new music releases for everyone to enjoy, including DJs. While distributing music to other DJs around the world, Kayla decided to try her hand becoming one. She practiced daily, on her own, slowly perfecting her craft. While practicing, she began to try mashing together two music genres creating a remix. Kayla sent her first remix to Riddimstream Marketing & Promotions and they saw potential in the works. This sparked a great work relationship between both parties as years progressed. Kayla took every opportunity to showcase her new found talent. In 2011, she took part in and won a “Best Mix Contest” hosted by Tiger Records based in Jamaica. The competition was judged by veteran DJs; at 16 years old this was a huge accomplishment. Continuing on her journey, Kayla joined an radio station - Radio 21, under Johnny Wonder, playing music for people all over the world. Later on in 2012, she went off to college in Connecticut and quickly found her space on campus as a resident DJ. While in college, she received an offer to have her own DJ show on Brooklyn Mix - 101.5 FM. For 2 years, Kayla blazed the air waves and formed relationships with her peers. Her time on the radio was worth while meeting artists such as Barbee, Prince Pin, Zoelah, Fya Empress and many more. Kayla grew confident in her craft and took the opportunity to join a DJ Spin off hosted by DJ Envy from Power 105.1 and the University of Bridgeport. She was victorious on April 18, 2013 claiming the champion title. She kept this title, winning the Spin-off again in 2017. Kayla continued to play at private and public events of all kinds bringing unity through music, while getting her higher education following through to graduate school. Today, Kayla continues to claim her name as “The Female Force” dominating the field with her fresh and infectious remixes and mixes. She has since had the opportunity to partner with Bob Marley’s Tuff Gong Radio for a Women’s History Month show highlighting women in dancehall, as well as a special Afrobeats and Soca mix show on Sirius XM. Kayla also made a special guest appearance on TeamSoca.com radio show, displaying much versatility. Coming in with a force, she has also been featured in L3 Magazine’s “Women on the Turntables” series and has topped the Caribbean Music Pool’s DJ chart with her amazing remixes. DJ Kayla G continues to create ways to switch up her set and create music that will make a difference. At events, her crowd control and microphone skills takes her talent to a next level. Making an international stamp, Kayla looks forward to continuing to establish a force in music and make her mark. -
