Are you feeling alone as a woman of faith in the military? Do you wish you could be more present, and give more time to your family? Are you burnt out, struggling to prioritize your physical & mental health because there’s never enough time & energy for everything that needs to be done? Does your harsh inner critic make you feel like no matter how much you accomplish, it’s never enough? Maybe you’re trying to figure out the right timing to start or grow your family in the military. Or maybe you’re feeling torn, not sure if you can truly keep your faith & family first while serving, without being forced to choose between. You’re a high achiever with a strong drive to make an impact in the world, but are tired of feeling like it has to come at the expense of your family. Every day can feel like a battle, trying to give 100% and hold it all together in the juggling act of work, mom life, the home, and your marriage. Your load is heavy, but you keep pushing through because you can’t afford to rest. You’re longing for more balance, and the freedom to protect what’s most important. I see you sister. I was there too. As a dual military, active duty Army officer raising 2 sweet (and wild!) boys in the Catholic faith, a fierce advocate for my sisters in arms going through pregnancy & postpartum, a recovering perfectionist and people pleaser, entrepreneur and big dreamer with a heart to make a difference, I know the struggle that comes with wearing so many hats & trying to fulfill each of these roles well. It’s easy to find yourself going going going and giving giving giving, with no time to even breathe or have a moment for yourself. I started Armed to the Heart to be who I needed when I was in the trenches, overwhelmed by motherhood in the military. In this Podcast, you’ll find work-life balance tips, time management strategies, and heart to heart conversations about motherhood and military life, all grounded in Biblical truths, my education & experience as a professionally-trained Catholic Mindset Coach, certified Pregnancy & Postpartum Athleticism Coach, and lessons I’ve learned the hard way. In my first couple years of motherhood, I felt like a failure. I was struggling with my mental health, carrying so much guilt for all the time I was spending away from my baby, drowning in my home, postpartum recovery, & being stationed apart from my husband. Motherhood didn’t feel welcomed in my work environment, and I felt so much pressure to prove myself in a male-dominated combat arms unit. I worried my family was getting the leftovers of me. I felt stifled in my faith. It felt impossible to actually live out my priorities. Everyone kept telling me I was superwoman, juggling it all so successfully. But inside, I just felt like a mess – even the idea of balance felt so out of reach. I felt so trapped. I had lost my sense of purpose. I felt like the military was no longer the path for me, but I couldn’t leave yet, because I owed 3 more years of service. Yet one step at a time, God started revealing a path forward. Starting with an answered prayer in the form of the call to learn more about pregnancy & postpartum fitness when I was in the valleys of my own recovery process, He inspired me to start bridging the gaps I saw in the Army through both policy advocacy work & coaching. And He began to show me that motherhood wasn’t meant to be the death of our dreams. He taught me that our minds are the true spiritual battlegrounds, and that we are called to take every thought captive in obedience to Christ so we don’t have to be a victim to our circumstances, but can stand strong in Him amidst the storms. He guided me toward mentors who helped me grow in practical life skills like time management, emotional command, and healthier boundaries, that – when met with His grace – make it possible to serve and give my best, but without all the constant exhaustion. He showed me that even in the military, I could intentionally design my life rather than letting it be dictated to me. He showed me that by discerning His will in every season, it is possible to keep my faith and family first while making a meaningful impact. So if you’re ready to learn how to move out of burnout & overwhelm, Find more time for your family, And strengthen your mindset for everything motherhood & military life throws your way, If you’re ready to invite God into every area of your life, this Podcast is for you! Lace up those boots sister, it’s time to jump in together. -
